"White Christmas"
Audition Information
We are looking for dynamic leads that can portray the iconic characters of the Haynes Sisters and Bob Wallace and Phil Davis. These characters will need to have strong vocals, dance skills and be able to look about 25-30 ish. There is only one child in the cast (sorry!) who is a female of about 9 years old.
We need plenty of men to play in our ensemble who can at least fake some dance moves and to play the soldiers. The ensemble is on stage a good bit, so strong singers and dancers of all ages are needed. The General should be played by a mature gentleman.
The part of Martha Watson is also a great opportunity for an "older" lady! There is a quintet within the large ensemble for "Snow" with beautiful harmonies, so we need singers in every vocal range.
Auditioners should:
-
Prepare about 16 measures of a song from a musical - preferably from the same time period/style as White Christmas. Bring your sheet music, or accompaniment trax. We will have an accompanist.
-
Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes and be prepared to learn a quick 6-10 eight counts of choreography/dance
-
Be prepared to do a cold read with other candidates
-
Bring a resume or headshot if you have one, but it is NOT REQUIRED. An audition form will be provided for you to fill out with your information and experience.

Synopsis
Soldiers Bob Wallace and Phil Davis served under General Henry Waverley in World War Two and, ten years later, they are still working together in a popular song and dance duo, Wallace and Davis. When they meet the singing sisters, Betty and Judy Haynes, Phil becomes enamoured with the beautiful Judy, while Bob is more reserved about his feelings for Betty. The two men follow the sisters up to their seasonal engagement at The Columbia Inn in Vermont. They discover the inn is owned by General Waverley but, unbeknownst to him, the inn is struggling to survive. With the help of Martha, the concierge, and the General’s granddaughter, Susan, Bob, Phil, Betty and Judy decide to put on a big show to draw in business.
